Redoubt: Q&A

There are many places you can choose to take your stand against tyranny.  Wherever you choose to stand tall, you have our support.  If 'Home' is deep in Blue territory, we understand the sentiment if you choose to remain there.  If you choose to move to many of the defensible AOs across this great land, we support you.

If you are considering a move to the III Redoubt - we can support you in another manner altogether. Many Patriots are walking away from their lives across the land where they feel isolated and vulnerable. Whether you are moving for the practical aspects of being in a more defensible location, off the primary lines-of-attack, less vulnerable to Just-In-Time supply lines, or simply to live in an AO where there are 'people like you' - we have created this space so you can ask questions about the Redoubt of people who live here.

Lineman will answer your questions here.  No matter where you choose to live in the Redoubt, if you come here you will be strengthening every Patriot in the region.  Even if we are separated by many miles and mountain ranges, we are all part of a larger team and support network.

One thing is certain: Every American reading this page will choose when/where/how to stand - or bend knee.  This part of America will not bend knee.  If you think like we do - consider becoming our neighbor.

  1. Well K I guess everyone is already squared away...They all have a small army to defend themselves, live off the line of attack(more than a tank of gas from a city(200k and above), have a farmstead set up to sustain themselves, water galore, etc so they don't need to consider moving...Come on no one that reads this blog needs a better AO for freedom, survivability, or sustainability... I just want to leave you with this if you won't move when times are good you won't bug out when you need to and you will end up dead...All of you that have your BOB packed and ready but don't have a set plan in place of where your going and already have your supplies there you won't leave because fear will make you stay until its to late...That's for you guys surrounded by bad people but stay for whatever your excuse is...Like I've stated before I've moved a lot and each time it was to better myself but it was damn scary at the time but I sucked it up and did it anyway...You can too and I will do everything in my power to help you do that...Whether it be a place to stay for a bit, help you find employment, look for places that fit your budget...Because in the end by helping you I help myself in the long run by having neighbors that love freedom as much as I do...I have a Realtor here too that is one of the best I have ever worked with if you want to go that route...

  2. What's the availability of jobs in the trades like out there?
I'm 55 years old,due to past to past broken leg,and subsequent bone infection and multiple surgeries-I can't do roofing etc. due to lack of range of motion in ankle and knee, but am able to do just about any other kind of physical labor.
I'm currently in Ohio,we're going to move as soon as the youngest kid gets herself squared away with a place to live, not sure if we're going your way,or heading to W.Va. at this point.
I've worked on framing crews, done a ton of remodeling, did all maintenance work for a guy who owns 55 rental homes, can hang drywall, tape and finish, done concrete work, including stamped, currently just doing maintenance/repair stuff around here, got the contract for a couple of condo complexes . Keeps me busy all summer, usually snowplow in winter, running a bobcat w plow attachment clearing driveways in condo complexes. (not the same ones I work on in summer).
I also spent 20 years as a professional chef-had to get out of that to preserve what's left of my sanity-was sick of going to work in the dark, and coming home in the dark, working every holiday, and having very, very few days off. I'm not totally opposed to doing restaurant work again.
We're in no position financially to buy a home-would have to rent. Have excellent references as far as paying rent on time-never even been late paying the rent for the past 13 years we've been in our current home.

I would appreciate it if you could give me some idea what homes rent for,and what jobs are available in the area-heck just give me the names of the local papers for the area, and I'll look through the ads to get a rough idea.

  3. I'm the only one that's even asked what the job market's like in the redoubt, what homes sell/rent for, etc.?
No one needs to move because where they currently live is way too close to millions of those who comprise the free shit army?
Everyone is in a location that they can defend for months?
Everyone has a team to defend their neighborhood from the FSA?
Everyone is 100% squared away, doesn't need to consider a move to a much better area?
I know moving sucks-I've moved from one state to another several times-it helps if the place you're moving to has like-minded people, and that those people are offering to help you find a place to live-and a place to work.
lineman filled me in on the job situation-plenty of work that I can do in the area, plenty of jobs the wife could do as well.
The housing market seems to be affordable-lots of properties in all price ranges both to buy and rent.
All I have to do is get the wife to make up her mind on where we're going to move-W.Va,or the redoubt.
Seems to be more jobs available in the redoubt at this point, that may be the deciding factor for us.
Anyone considering a move-lineman will give you a good idea of the area, jobs, housing, etc.

  4. New here. For the past few years, I've been considering moving my family to an area that shows to be inside the mapped area above. Just found the site, community, and map. How/where do I find more info about this?

  5. What state are you looking at and what info are you looking for?

    1. Wyoming. What is a Redoubt? How do I involve myself in this community? I'm just not, at all, up to speed with this stuff. I need any and all info I can get. If all does go bad, I need a place to protect my family. I'm not looking to run, I'm looking to join the people that will be fighting back. Is there a more secure way of asking you this stuff? Isn't this a little too public?

    2. Where do I start? Hmmm first off how did you come across this site because the most natural progression for most people is to become concerned with survival if something happens whether it be natural disasters, monetary collapse, war, civil uprising etc so they start researching on how to get prepared physically, financially, spiritually etc .. Once they have delved into that for a couple of years or more then they start progressing on to other things like getting involved with the Patriot movement they start training on everything from medical to tactical then they start to build tribe because they realize they won't survive without that...So back to the question how did you come to be here and why now...What is it that woke you up now that hadnt in the last 10 years...I'm not trying to be an ass and if I had just woke up for whatever reason I might be a little panicked to...The thing is we as a group maybe haven't met everyone in person but we know a little about each one through their blogging or other Patriots having met them and vouching for them...I don't know anything about you and what makes you tick so I couldn't make any good recommendations for you....So your going to have to tell me a little about yourself...Now I don't what things that would hurt your OpSec but just some general things that would help me in determining what area would be best for you...

  6. First, I came across this site when I was searching online for products to add to an E.D.C. bag. I saw a picture of a III% patch and ran a search for what it was and meant. I think I like what I saw.
I am very quiet and secretive. I believe that I should leave people alone and they should leave me alone. Not very social at all. I've tried the social networking thing for a little while and didn't like it, so I went back in my hole. I am very slow to trust. Therefore, I have not spoken to anyone about my thoughts or beliefs (other than my wife). I see the direction this country seems to be heading and it needs to stop.
I have no military background, no special training, etc. which is one reason I'm reaching out in order to learn where to find true training, not a sales pitch. Both for me and my family. I don't consider myself an activist, however, I will stand for what I believe.
As you can see, I'm not a writer. Bottom line, I live in a small but rapidly growing town. I want to raise my kids in a country setting raising our own food and making our own living. This would be best in a setting where we can defend ourselves and others. Our oldest is almost college age, but there are 3 more behind him. I don't want to shelter my family, but protect them. I don't know if I've answered any of your questions on what makes me tick, but I have somewhat followed the progression you spoke of. I am not financially independent and still (slowly) building the E.D.C.s and B.O.B.s, etc. Anyway, just found the site and thought I'd ask. Thanks.

  7. Welcome...Well the next question is do you want to build tribe or do you just want to get off the line of attack...What are some of the jobs that you would be interested in and qualified for....Are you looking for a place to live way out in the boonies where you only get to town once a month or something that if you feel like it you can go grab burger from the local drive-in...Do you homeschool or do you need a good school for the rest of your children and do you need a decent college nearby for your oldest...Do you want to start raising your own food and being more self sufficient... If you want to email me this info you can contact the host of this blog and request to send your email to me or we can continue to talk here...Either way is.fine with me...

  9. brother, I have a minute btw flights to torment you and tell you my plan is to drive over to your place and leave the diesel idling lol... we'll talk on the phone rather than the 'net; but I did want to say howdy, and I did what you suggested and wandered about the intardweb looking at your whereabouts. You already know I'm tired of this stinking desert; and we're moving... although if you're headed down to Bouldercity (sp... lol) hit me up on the cell. The tribesman I spoke of with his A&P/machinist skills is planning on going north, too. And tell your friend with the pricey dog to give me a call - we're going to shoot holes in the desert on 19Apr... We'll talk soon... stormfriend... (grandpa)

  10. How are jobs in IT out in ID? I want to move way more rural/backwoods but my current profession typically requires being closer to cities.

  11. I am in the redoubt but we feel rather isolated. I have a defensible position but it is too close to the cities for my liking. I plan on attending vet school once I retire from .mil, if we even have that much time left, and there is a great school in ID. I figure vet skills will be in great demand once the liberty games begin. Otherwise, my 20 years of hunting submarines is not going to be very affective, though my training on Naval boarding teams can come in handy. You think staying in Washington, near the sound is a good plan, or making an early move to ID a more solid choice?

    1. I would start looking over there right now...You know the saying better to be a year too early than 1 day too late...Nobody knows how long we have but the situation is such that just one little thing could provide the tipping point...

    2. Hey Harold I would definitely be planning on coming to the PatCon over here...It would help you see what the area was like and get you connected with the good folk already here...
